‘No Kings’ Protest Planned For Busy Marin County Street
The protest is planned in opposition of a military parade on President Donald Trump's birthday.
SAN RAFAEL, CA — As a counter to a massive military parade in Washington D.C. on President Donald Trump’s birthday, a “No Kings” protest will occur during the afternoon of June 14 in San Rafael.
Demonstrations are planned around the nation, and the Marin Democratic Party, also known as the Democratic Central Committee of Marin, have planned a “No Kings” protest that will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1000 4th St. in San Rafael.
“Spending millions on self glorification while slashing essential programs for we the people is unconscionable,” the Marin Democratic Party stated.

The protest is planned to occur the same day as a military parade that will take place on the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary, which is also Trump’s 79th birthday, according to a National Park Service permit application for the America 250 military parade.
The military parade said it will start at 6 p.m. at the Pentagon’s north parking lot, will then cross the Memorial bridge, and then will pass the west side of the Lincoln Memorial before dispersing along Constitution Avenue to 15th Street in Washington D.C., according to the permit application.

The parade will include 6,600 soldiers and 150 military vehicles, the permit application stated.
That night there will be fireworks and a concert featuring “five to seven musical acts” with “well-known performers, likely from the country music world,” according to the permit application.
The application was filed by America250.org, Inc., a U.S. Semi-quincentennial Commission nonprofit established to help plan commemorations of the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
