One of the men challenged apartment complex employees to fight, pulled out a pocket knife and made stabbing motions, police said.
SAN RAFAEL, CA — San Rafael police arrested two men after a brief standoff at an apartment complex Monday.
Police responded around 3:30 p.m. to a call about two men who became belligerent and threatening when they were asked to leave a closed pool area at an apartment complex on Cresta Way.
John Henry Musto, 22, of San Rafael, challenged the employees to fight, pulled out a pocket knife and made stabbing motions at the two employees, police Sgt. Justin Graham said.

Officers responded and tried to contact Musto, who was inside an apartment. Musto refused to leave the apartment, and Dennis George Jones Jr., 44, of San Rafael, refused to make Musto leave the apartment, Graham said.
Musto and Jones did not cooperate with the officers when an on-duty crisis negotiations team arrived, and police issued a shelter-in-place for the area. More officers and two police K-9s responded.
