MARIN COUNTY, CA — Locals may see smoke emitting from prescribed burns beginning Wednesday in Marin County.
The Marin County Fire Department will manage the prescribed burn, in coordination with Marin Water, which manages the watershed lands where the burn will occur near Bon Tempe Lake on Mount Tamalpais.
This is the third in that area since July as part of a continued effort to complete critical vegetation management work on the mountain.

During the planned burn, the Bon Tempe parking lot and road will be closed. Sky Oaks Road will stay open but may have brief delays from smoke and temporary lane closures due to fire engine patrols. Sunnyside and Bon Tempe Dam Trails will be closed. Visitors must obey closure signs.
Burn date and size are tentative, dependent on favorable weather, fuel, and air quality for safe execution and minimal smoke impact.
