Atomic Wings Opens First California Location In San Ramon
The East Coast chicken wings chain hosted a grand opening on Alcosta Boulevard this weekend.
SAN RAMON, CA — Sports games and Friday night parties just got a whole lot spicier in San Ramon: Atomic Wings, a national chain serving hot buffalo chicken wings, just opened its first California location in San Ramon. The new franchise is located at 9140 Alcosta Boulevard, across from the Walmart.
On Saturday, the location hosted a grand opening that gave away free orders of grilled and traditional wings to the first few guests in line. Through Sunday, Sept. 4, the store is giving a free side with a food order, like waffle fries or mac and cheese.
The franchise has been on the East Coast since 1989, when founder Adam Lippin wanted to open a store serving the crispy chicken wings he remembered from his college days in Buffalo. The first store opened in New York City, and spread all around the Tri-State Area. New locations are opening in Maryland and West Virginia.
