Cereal Drive At San Ramon Regional Collects Hundreds Of Servings
The annual Healthy Over Hungry Cereal Drive aims to help local children during the summer months.

SAN RAMON, CA — Around 300 servings of cereal and more than $225 were donated during the Healthy Over Hungry Cereal Drive at San Ramon Regional Medical Center, the hospital said in a news release.
From June 6-13 donations were collected for the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano during the annual cereal drive.
The effort is aimed at helping local children during the summer months.

"The past two years have been especially challenging for households struggling with food insecurity," CEO of the hospital Ann Lucena said. "Many families have had to rely on food banks and other programs to have access to healthy meals. We recognize the importance of beginning each day with a nutritious breakfast and, through this drive, hope to do our part to help our community."
Monetary donations will be used to buy perishable items, the release said.
