Concord Man Identified As Victim Of Fatal I-680 Crash

Luis Rabanal died in a two-vehicle collision on southbound Interstate Highway 680 in San Ramon on Saturday night, authorities said.

SAN RAMON, CA—The Contra Costa County coroner's office has identified 40-year-old Concord resident Luis Rabanal as the man who died in a two-vehicle collision on southbound Interstate Highway 680 in San Ramon on Saturday night.

The crash was reported at about 8 p.m. Saturday about a quarter-mile north of the Bollinger Canyon Road off-ramp from southbound Highway 680, according to the California Highway Patrol.

One vehicle ended up in the far right traffic lane and the other ended up on the right-hand shoulder. Rabanal was trapped in one of the vehicles when CHP officers and paramedics arrived.
A GoFundMe page to help Rabanal's family had gathered nearly $16,000 as of Tuesday morning.
