Gang Charged With San Ramon Sunglass Hut Theft: Contra Costa DA
A syndicate from Antioch and Pittsburg is accused of stealing merchandise from stores all over the East Bay, leading to police chases.
SAN RAMON, CA — 11 members of a criminal ring from Antioch and Pittsburg were charged with 11 felonies, including conspiracy, grand theft of personal property, second-degree robbery, and others related to the alleged theft of millions in merchandise, according to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.
The DA alleges that the group worked together to steal merchandise from Sunglass Hut locations in San Ramon, Concord, Walnut Creek, and Brentwood. They are also accused of stealing tobacco products from delivery trucks around the East Bay, and various items from Chanel, Nordstrom, and Alo Yoga in Walnut Creek between September 3, 2024 and April 2, 2025.
According to a DA news release, four of the defendants stole cartes of tobacco products from a 7-Eleven in Pleasant Hill. After leaving the scene, defendant Robert Crawford led police on a car chase. He eventually lost control of the wheel and crashed through a fence at Fremont Elementary School in Antioch.

The felony charges come with enhancement of street terrorism, taking property in concert, and taking property with a value greater than $50,000. Eight individuals are currently in the custody of the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office waiting to be arraigned.
