SAN RAMON, CA — With all this rain and cold, it's nice to have places where the kids can play inside, and the grownups can eat food that reminds them of warm weather.

Kidplex recently opened a 3,500-square-foot indoor playground at City Center. Kids aged 0-8 can now enjoy a variety of attractions, including:

  • A toddler room devoted to developing balance and agility
  • A pretend play station for imagination building
  • An interactive area for honing fine motor skills
  • Ball pits
  • A multi-use area for parties and other group activities

Kidplex is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends.

All that running around can make you hungry. Mediterranean restaurant Alora plans to open a 6,900-square-foot restaurant at the corner of Sunset and Bishop drives at the end of February. Alora opened a waterside restaurant on San Francisco's Pier 3 last year, and its coastal-inspired menu of fresh seafood and Mediterranean delights like hummus, tahini, eggplant, and more were so popular that it expanded to San Ramon the following year.

City Center also recently saw the opening of Gorjana, which offers SoCal-inspired jewelry and an expert sales staff.
