SAN RAMON, CA — The eagle has landed in San Ramon.

On Monday, the city will inaugurate a new sculpture of a bronze eagle at the 9/11 plaque at San Ramon Memorial Park. Entitled 'Liberty,' the new sculpture is the largest bronze sculpture of a golden eagle in the state of California.

According to Parks and Community Services Division Manager Brad Morris, the sculpture was installed Friday, Nov. 21, and the city has been putting finishing touches of it to get ready for Monday. It was completed by sculptor Brian Keith, who has sculpted 17-foot statues in university arenas and busts of Ronald and Nancy Reagan at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum. Closer to home, Keith sculpted "Swan Tales," an installation of seven bronze figures in Blackhawk.
