San Ramon Carjackers at Large Following Pursuit
Officers responded Tuesday to the Safeway at 2505 San Ramon Valley Blvd. on a report of an armed robbery and carjacking. Investigators determined the victim, a Concord resident, agreed to meet a man he did not know in the store's parking lot to purchase motorcycle parts, police said.
The victim and the suspect met in the parking lot at around 10:45 p.m., and the suspect, identified as Ciccotti, pulled a revolver and threatened the victim, police said. Police said Ciccotti stole the victim's money, wallet, iPhone and a rental car the victim was driving.
The suspect fled the area in the stolen car and was not immediately located by police. Investigators were able to quickly identify Ciccotti as the suspect, and he was taken into custody at his home Thursday.
