Police Update: Arrest Made in Skate Park Attack; Car Chase Details

Alexander Nejat, 21, is suspected of hitting at 19-year-old in the head with a hammer at the San Ramon Skate Park on Saturday, June 2.

A 21-year-old was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of using a hammer in an attack at the San Ramon Skate Park on Saturday, June 2, Lt. Tom Larocque said.

Alexander Nejat of San Ramon is suspected of and then fleeing the scene.

The victim, who knew Nejat, was hospitalized but has since been released.

On June 11, San Ramon police responded to a call about a suspected drunk driver on Barbados Drive and Molokai Court at about 10:30 p.m., Larocque said.

The driver, Philip Harris, 51, of San Ramon, was driving his 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada with a flat tire.

When officers tried to pull over Harris, he continued driving, and a low speed pursuit followed.

The chase continued for about 10 minutes, going to Sycamore Valley Road and I-680, before Harris crashed his vehicle near where the pursuit began.

Harris was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and evading arrest.
