SAN RAMON, CA — San Ramon teen siblings Saahithi and Saaketh Madhuvarsu collected over 50 pounds of candy to donate to children in need.

The siblings — Saahithi is a junior at Dougherty Valley High School and Saaketh is an eighth grader at Gale Ranch Middle School — co-founded a nonprofit called Busy Buzzy Bots, an organization focused on improving STEM education throughout the world.

They initiated a candy drive throughout their neighborhood, and received 50 pounds of donated candy. On Saturday, Dec. 20, they worked with the Glad Tidings Church of God in Christ in Hayward to host a large community giveaway event for the community, as well as free food, clothing, shoes, and toys to people in need.

"It is incredibly rewarding to see what everyone's generosity resulted in," said Saaketh. "Everything we've done is thanks to the candy donors who believed in our mission."

"The one thing that never gets old is seeing the smiles on people's faces when we get to serve them. The excitement expressed by the children when we walked in with the
bags of candy was unforgettable," said Saahithi.
