Poll: Are You in Favor of the Proposed HOV Ramps?

At a meeting Thursday, everyone seemed against the plan, but what do you think?

Caltrans and the Contra Costa Transit Authority have proposed building HOV on- and off-ramps where I-680 and Norris Canyon meet.

The I-680/Norris Canyon HOV Direct Ramps Project would add HOV ramps (for buses, carpools and vanpools). A portion of the funding for the $102 million project comes from Measure J, the rest would come from grants and other sources. San Ramon would not be responsible for any of the funding.

, residents said they were against the plan, citing there was no need for more ramps in the city, the projects costs too much money and safety concerns.

CCTA says the ramps would help alleviate traffic at Bollinger Canyon and Crow Canyon Road and make access easier to Bishop Ranch.

An alternative to the plan, is an off-ramp for westbound traffic at Executive Parkway.
