A San Ramon City Council resolution last year established 1867 as the founding year of San Ramon.
SAN RAMON, CA — In recognition of the 150-year history of San Ramon, community leaders, businesses and residents have joined together in a grassroots effort to celebrate the city with a yearlong celebration called San Ramon 150, according to event organizers. The yearlong sesquicentennial celebration of the once small village will host a series of dedicated events, partner events and programs, pioneer presentations and historic displays reflecting the historic roots of San Ramon, event organizers said.
A San Ramon City Council resolution last year established 1867 as the founding year of San Ramon, according to event organizers.
Mayor Bill Clarkson said in a statement, "With the many incredible improvements within arm's reach including construction of the San Ramon city center, and bike/pedestrian walkways over Crow Canyon and Bollinger Canyon Roads, and improvements to the Iron Horse Trail and San Ramon Library, I can't think of a better way for us to celebrate San Ramon than with the San Ramon 150 yearlong celebration."
