San Ramon Deputy Fire Chief Tapped For Interim Job In Vallejo

Frank Drayton most recently served as deputy fire chief for the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District.

SAN RAMON, CA — Former San Ramon deputy fire chief Frank Drayton started in a new role this week as interim fire chief of the Vallejo Fire Department, the city announced Monday.

Drayton most recently helped lead 200 members across 10 stations in the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District, managing emergency operations, advanced medical treatment, HAZMAT and technical rescue services.

He previously served as fire chief in Vacaville, from 2011 to 2015, and his other roles include time spent as a fire chief for the 349th CEF in the United States Air Force.

Vallejo City Manager Andrew Murray formally welcomed Drayton to the city with a statement shared Monday.

"With Chief Drayton's extensive experience and proven leadership in fire services, he is an ideal choice for Interim Fire Chief," Murray said. "I am confident that under his guidance the Vallejo Fire Department will continue to deliver excellent service and ensure the safety and well-being of our community."
