San Ramon Farmer's Market Favorite Named Among Best In Bay Area

SAN RAMON, CA — A San Ramon Farmer's Market staple was named one of The Mercury News’ “12 Fantastic Bay Area Doughnut Shops That Will Knock Your Socks Off.”

The paper lauded Ocean Malasada Co., a San Francisco bakery that makes Portuguese fried, filled doughnut balls also popular in Hawaii. The bakery has a weekly presence at the farmer’s markets in San Ramon and Walnut Creek, and a pop-up inside San Mateo’s Takahashi Market. The bakery also takes part in farmer’s markets and pop-ups across the Bay Area.

“Biting into these fluffy malasadas is like sinking your teeth into a cloud, if that cumulus were coated in sugar crystals and lined with custard,” the paper gushed.
