San Ramon Restaurant To Host Meals On Wheels Diablo Region Fundraiser

SAN RAMON, CA — Dine out Monday at Gianni’s Italian Bistro in San Ramon and support Meals on Wheels Diablo Region as part of a "Tips for Change" fundraiser.

The Walnut Creek-based nonprofit, which provides meals and services to elderly residents in Cental and East Contra Costa County, will receive 10 percent of sales and 100 percent of tips on Sept. 19 from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Italian restaurant on San Ramon Valley Boulevard.

Meals on Wheels employees also will be waiting tables that evening.

"MOW Diablo Region will be the waitstaff working hard to earn your tips, the same way we work hard every day to make sure vulnerable seniors don’t go hungry," the organization said, adding that the evening's financial take will be doubled, thanks to a supporter.

"A generous donor will match whatever we raise from that night’s 'Tips for Change' fundraiser," MOW staff said.

Gianni's, a Tri-Valley, family-owned eatery that specializes in small plates, homemade pastas and Italian entrees, has offered its weekly, "Tips for Change" fundraising opportunities for community charities since its opening in 2012.

"Every Monday night, volunteers from a local nonprofit suit up as servers for the evening and join the Gianni’s team for a 'Tips for Change' event," the restaurant stated. "At each weekly event, all tips and 10 percent of sales from the night go directly towards the designated local charitable organization."

Gianni’s Italian Bistro is at 2065 San Ramon Valley Blvd. Reservations are required and can be made at 925-820-6969 or online here. Indoor and outdoor seating is available, and Monday's to-go orders also apply to the MOW fundraiser.
