Teen in Critical Condition, Another Arrested on Suspicion of DUI After Crash in San Ramon
Breaking: The boy was transported by helicopter to John Muir Medical Center.

SAN RAMON, CA — One teenage boy is in critical condition and another was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a solo-vehicle collision in San Ramon on Monday afternoon, police said. The crash was reported shortly before 4 p.m. on Windemere Parkway, near Longleaf Circle. Witnesses reported seeing a boy running from the area after the crash.
Arriving officers found a 16-year-old San Ramon boy suffering from significant injuries, police said. San Ramon Valley Fire crews arrived, requested an air ambulance and got the boy of the car. The boy was transported by helicopter to John Muir Medical Center, where he is in critical condition, police said.
The other boy, also 16 and from San Ramon, then drove back to the scene and admitted to being the driver and to drinking alcohol before the crash. Witnesses confirmed that he was the same boy who they had seen
running from the crash earlier, police said.

The driver was taken to John Muir Medical Center for complaints of pain. At the hospital, a blood sample was taken for evidence. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence resulting in great bodily injury, police said.
