3 Arrested After Gun Fired Into Santa Cruz Apartment Building
Police said they found the men heading into a nearby car.
SANTA CRUZ, CA — Three Watsonville men were arrested after someone fired a gun into a Santa Cruz apartment building late Sunday night.
There were no injuries reported in the incident, which occurred shortly before 11 p.m. in the 100 block of Blaine Street.
Jose L. Lopez, 28; Gustavo Garcia, 19; and Bryan Guerrero, 18, were arrested about a block away from the scene of the shooting as they got into a car, police said.

Lopez and Garcia were arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide and conspiracy to commit a crime, police said. All three men were also arrested on suspicion of participating in a criminal street gang.
Guerrero was not in custody as of Monday afternoon, Santa Cruz County jail records showed.

The men were accused of targeting a resident of the apartment building, police said. A single gunshot was fired inside.
Lopez had a .22-caliber handgun in his backpack, police said.
