3 Arrested On Firearm, Drug-Related Offenses In Santa Cruz

When officers contacted the suspects in the car, they allegedly tried to hide drugs and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — Police arrested three men Saturday after they were found allegedly in possession of a firearm and narcotics. Just after 2 p.m., officers were patrolling the 800 block of Water Street when they saw three suspicious people in a late-model Buick, police said.

When officers contacted the suspects in the car, they allegedly tried to hide drugs and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Police searched their car and allegedly found a few grams of methamphetamine, prescription drugs and a loaded and concealed firearm, police said.

The suspects were identified as 23-year-old Andrew Tennyson of Santa Cruz, 20-year-old Isaiah Hayden of Soquel and 20-year-old Nicholas Smith of Santa Cruz, police said. Tennyson was arrested on suspicion of possessing the loaded firearm. Hayden and Smith were arrested on suspicion of drug-related
offenses, police said.
