Aptos Cyclist and Car Collide Thursday Morning
Cyclist Douglas Barton, 59, was taken to Dominican Hospital.
Douglas Barton, 59, was struck and thrown while riding south on Cathedral Drive in Aptos Thursday at 8:50 a.m.
He hit a northbound Toyota Tacoma driven by Manuel Chavez, 40, of Santa Cruz.
The CHP says drugs or alcohol weren't involved, but officers are investigating the reason for the crash.Â
