Attempted Kidnap Monday

Santa Cruz Police released the following at 5 p.m:

White male in his 40's yelled at an 11 year old boy to get into his truck around 4:10 pm today, 800 block of Walnut. Medium gray Toyota Tundra type truck, model year 2000 or so. The truck did not have a camper shell or bed cover. Unknown license plate or state. Driver described as scruffy with a moustache. Child left the area. There was no contact between the child and the suspect.

No further description. Investigation is continuing with more information to follow as it develops. Detectives are working with the victim to develop a sketch.
