Attempted Murder Victim Found With Knife Still Embedded
Santa Cruz resident Damon Hahn called 911 to report a stabbing he allegedly committed after he and another man had been drinking.

SANTA CRUZ - A 30-year-old man was arrested early Thursday morning in Santa Cruz on suspicion of attempted murder in the stabbing of a drinking companion, police said Thursday.
Officers were dispatched at 2:22 a.m. to the 1200 block of Seabright Avenue after the suspect, later identified as Santa Cruz resident Damon Hahn, called 911 to report the stabbing.
Officers found a 25-year-old victim from Santa Cruz with stab wounds and a knife still in his back, according to police.

The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Officers located Hahn near the scene, and arrested him after an investigation.

Santa Cruz police determined that the two men knew each other and met while drinking at a nearby bar, police said. Police believe the men were walking home from the bar when they got into a fight.
Alcohol played a part in the stabbing according to authorities, but police said they do not know what started the fight.
