Ban On Campfires, Outdoor Burning Lifted In Santa Cruz County
Burning permits remain suspended. What to know.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Campfires, warming fires and ceremonial fires may resume in Santa Cruz County, Cal Fire announced Wednesday afternoon.
Outdoor burning was temporarily suspended Friday ahead of Labor Day weekend as firefighters across California were stretched thin battling more than a dozen wildfires. State and local responsibility areas were covered by the order.
Burn permits remain suspended, Cal Fire said. Cal Fire burn permits allow Californians to burn dead vegetation and other landscape debris in certain areas and under particular weather conditions, but are typically not allowed during dry seasons.
