Police rushed to the Aptos campus of the community college and ordered students and teachers to leave while they investigated a possible bomb.

The upper campus of Cabrillo College was evacuated mid day Thursday after a mysterious package was found in the 400 building. The sheriff's bomb squad investigated the package which was wrapped in black electrical tape and looked like either a bomb or an attempt to make something look suspicious, according to witnesses.

College President John Hendrickson said the campus would be closed until 2 p.m. and then possibly reopened, depending on the situation.
