SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A vegetation fire burned in the unincorporated community of Davenport in Santa Cruz County on Sunday afternoon, according to Cal Fire.

Crews with Cal Fire and Santa Cruz County were sent to the blaze on northbound state Highway 1 at about 4:21 p.m. at a cement plant.

The fire reached just over two acres and was burning in grass and trees; no structures were threatened. Firefighters made quick work of it and a call for a helicopter was cancelled and did not need to make any water drops, Cal Fire said.
