Festive Dogs: Hospital Staff Dog Show Fundraises For Charity

Dominican Hospital staff faced off in an annual dog show to fundraise for the Santa Cruz Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — The Dominican Hospital's intensive care unit staff faced off Friday in the 16th annual Holiday ICU Dog Show to fundraise for the Santa Cruz Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals — and it was adorable.

The event was born when an ICU patient wanted to see her pup, but the dog wasn't allowed inside. Staff walked it outside of her window and a few more employees brought their hounds by, too.

Owners and hounds alike dressed in festive holiday garb. They competed for best-in-show, and best small, medium and large dog. Goldie, Rookie, Buck and Huckleberry were finalists.
