Fire Causes $350K in Damage to Santa Cruz Home, 3 Displaced
Fire officials want to remind residents to be sure their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in their homes are working.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — A fire on Friday in Santa Cruz caused $350,000 in damage to home, fire officials said Saturday. Firefighters responded at 7:09 p.m. to a fire at a home at 450 Oxford Way near Mitchell's Cove Beach.
The first firefighters to arrive saw flames in the garage and possibly in the attic, according to fire officials.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and completed their work in about two hours. No one was injured, fire officials said.
Three people are without a home, at least temporarily, and they received help from firefighters Friday evening. The cause is under investigation. Fire officials want to remind residents to be sure their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in their homes are working.
