If you missed them, and almost no one in the county couldn't get a view from somewhere, here is the explosive finale of Friday's Monte Fireworks show at Seacliff State Park Beach in Aptos.

The 18th annual Monte Fireworks lit up the skies over Monterey Bay Friday night. This is Santa Cruz's chance to have a great fireworks show because it's usually too foggy on the Fourth of July and its clear in October.

It raised $120,000 for the schools last year and $30,000 for scholarships.

It was long enough and loud enough to scare the fish, the whales and the sharks away for some time.
