Highway 1 Reopens; 'Person In Crisis' Brought To Safety
Traffic was snarled in Santa Cruz County Wednesday as California Highway Patrol temporarily shut down Highway 1 in Live Oak.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — The California Highway Patrol reopened Highway 1 in both directions after temporarily closing the highway Wednesday afternoon "to assist a person in crisis" in Live Oak.
CHP Santa Cruz called for the closure of Highway 1 in both directions around 2:30 p.m. and announced around 5 p.m. that the person had been brought to safety.
The incident snarled traffic in the area and also caused delays along southbound Highway 17, according to CHP. Northbound traffic was diverted onto Soquel Drive and southbound traffic was diverted onto Morrissey Boulevard.
