Hundreds Turn Up for Gavin Jack Benefit, Despite the Rain

Pleasure Point neighbors staged a raffle and garage sale with food and music to raise money for the 18-year-old in desperate need of a heart transplant.

The rain dampened sales, but not spirits Saturday as hundreds of people gathered to raise money for Gavin Jack, the 18-year-old Soquel man who needs a heart transplant.

Teens lined the corners of Portola Drive and 41st Avenue steering drivers to the benefit on Portola Drive. The band No Chance played, and to keep dry, the drummer played from inside a van. This trio was excellent.
