Hwy 236 Repaired A Day Early, Hwy 9 Reopens In Felton

Highway 9 remains closed between Paradise Park and Encinal Street in Santa Cruz, according to Caltrans.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Caltrans crews repaired a slip-out on state Highway 236 in Santa Cruz County on Thursday, finishing a day earlier than projected, Caltrans officials said. The slip-out was located just south of the junction with state Highway 9, known as Waterman Gap, leading crews to close over 1 mile of Highway 236 on Monday, all the way to Via Paloma Drive.

Maintenance on Highway 9 has led to one-way controlled traffic at Western Avenue in Brookdale, 2 miles south of Waterman Gap on Highway 9, Caltrans officials said.

Several landslides have also been repaired on Highway 9 between Glengarry Road in Felton and Paradise Park, which will reopen at 5 p.m. today. Highway 9 remains closed between Paradise Park and Encinal Street
in Santa Cruz, according to Caltrans.
