Impaired Driver Slams Into Tree, Arrested On Felony Charges: Police
The SUV crashed outside of the credit union on Front Street in Santa Cruz.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — Santa Cruz Police are reminding the public to have a sober driver and plan ahead for a safe ride home after an SUV slammed into a tree off Front Street Sunday night.
The driver had minor injuries and nobody else was hurt, police said.
“Thankfully, the roads were not busy, and this incident didn't end in a tragic crash," the department said.

Police arrested the driver on suspected felony charges of driving under the influence. They used the hashtag #DUIDoesntMeanJustBooze on a social media post sharing the photo of the crash that happened outside of the Santa Cruz Community Credit Union.
Police didn’t give the name of the person arrested or any more details about the arrest.
