Jewelry Store Robbery Arrests Made After Citizen Tip, Police Say
Police are investigating whether the suspect in an early morning burglary Wednesday is connected to others in the area.
SANTA CRUZ, CA — The Santa Cruz Police Department said it has arrested a Santa Cruz County man after a resident identified a burglary suspect seen on surveillance video.
Gregory R. Burros, 34, was arrested on suspicion of burglarizing the Super Silver Jewelry store in the 1300 block of Pacific Avenue, police said in a statement. Officers are looking to see whether Burros may be linked to nearby burglaries.
The burglary was reported around 3 a.m., when police responded to find a window had been smashed and jewelry worth an estimated tens of thousands of dollars was stolen.

A resident quickly notified police that they recognized the suspect as Burros, police said. Police spotted a car linked to Burros around 10 a.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Doyle Street, police said.
Officers watched the car for a while, then arrested Burros.
