Man Allegedly Found With Drugs for Sale Outside the Police Department
Santa Cruz Police, who were on heightened alert because of the bank building takeover, got called to the scene of their own building.
Santa Cruz Police got a call about a man prowling in the bushes at their own building at 155 Center St.
When officers arrived at 7:35 p.m. Sunday, they found Easton Bassett, 26, behind bushes on the embankment that rises from the street to the building.
He couldn't explain why he was there, police said.

After a search, they found two bags of marijuana, adding up to three-fourths of a pound, and a digital scale.
He was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail.
