Man Arrested for Child Pornography was Downloading Porn While at the Santa Cruz Police Station
While talking to police, Walter Louis Galvert III was downloading child pornography on his cell phone, they said.

While Santa Cruz Police were talking to a 48-year-old man suspected of dealing in child pornography Wednesday, they found the man was downloading illegal images of children on his phone at the police station.
Walter Louis Galvert III, of Boulder Creek was arrested for possession of child pornography Wednesday. Police were led to him by the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children task force, which took part in a national sweep of child pornographers across the country.
Police found images of children at Galvert's home at the 13000 block of Highway 9. He had previously been in the adult pornography business, they said.
"In searching his cell phones brought to the interview, investigators found he was actively in possession and actually downloading child pornography at that very moment," wrote Deputy Chief Steve Clark, in a press release.
They said Galvert confessed to addictions to methamphetamine and pornography and wrote a letter of apology for his actions.
No local children were molested, police said. However, investigators are combing through thousands of images to identify the children and are working with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Child Victim Identification Program.
If you have information on Galvert, please contact investigators at (831) 420-5820.
