Man Arrested for Making Bomb Threat at Congressman Sam Farr's Office Monday
Stephen Brown, 72, reportedly told someone in Sam Farr's office that he intended to blow up the county building.

Santa Cruz Sheriff's deputies arrested a transient for allegedly walking into the office of Congressman Sam Farr and saying he was going to wait for Farr and "blow up the county building."
Stephen Brown, 72, made the statement to an aide in the congressional office in the County Administration Building at 12:24 p.m. Monday. Four hours later Capitola Police were called to a disturbance at a military recruiting office on 41st Avenue and found Brown.
He was arrested after a struggle and charged with making bomb and terrorist threats. He was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail and being held on $10,000 bail.

Deputies said there was no evidence of bomb materials. Farr was not in the office or in danger, they said.
