Man Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI Following Injury Crash In Santa Cruz Co.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A San Francisco man was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI after a head-on crash in the Santa Cruz Mountains on Saturday night left him and another driver with major injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol. Todd Russo, 48, was driving west into Felton on Graham Hill Road in a 1991 Toyota Corolla around 10:30 p.m. when he crossed over the double yellow lines, crashing head-on into a 2010 Mazda 3.
The 47-year-old Santa Cruz woman driving the Mazda was taken to Dominican Hospital in Live Oak for treatment of major injuries, CHP Officer Trista Drake said. The woman's passenger, a 32-year-old Santa Cruz woman, drove herself to the same hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
Russo was airlifted to Dominican Hospital for treatment of major injuries, Drake said. Graham Hill Road was closed until around 1 a.m. Sunday for the investigation.
