Man Working on Bicycle Stabbed Three Times

The victim was flown to a trauma center by helicopter.

Santa Cruz Police are looking for a man who snuck up behind another man working on his bicycle and stabbed him three times in the back Saturday before midnight.

Police said the victim, a 41-year-old transient, was crouched on the 100 block of Dakota Avenue when he felt what he thought were three blows to his back, up by his shoulders.

He was treated an in stable condition. Police used a dog to canvass the area, but couldn't find a suspect.
