Narcotics Sting Results In Four Santa Cruz Arrests

Areas of San Lorenzo Park and Riverside Ave. were targeted by officers, who found methamphetamine and heroin for sale.

SANTA CRUZ - Santa Cruz Police have announced the arrests of four men in a narcotics sting operation last week in Santa Cruz.

On Friday February 19th, between 1:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m., officers of the Santa Cruz Police Neighborhood Enforcement Team and Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team conducted a narcotics sting operation in made in the areas of San Lorenzo Park and the east river levee of the San Lorenzo River near Riverside Ave.

Police say the joint operation resulted in the arrest of four suspects for conspiracy and sales of narcotics to undercover officers. The suspects sold methamphetamine and heroin to undercover officers.

The suspects arrested have been identified by police as:

  • Rafael Saldana - 46 years old, transient, Santa Cruz, arrested for sales of heroin and conspiracy to commit crime
  • Juan Gonzalez, - 41 years old, transient, Santa Cruz arrested for sales of heroin and conspiracy to commit crime
  • Benjamin Kirkley - 59 years old, transient, Santa Cruz arrested for sales of methamphetamine and conspiracy to commit crime
  • John Pitts - 37 years old, transient, Santa Cruz arrested for sales of methamphetamine and conspiracy to commit crime
