Open House For Santa Cruz Coastal Rail Trail Segments 10, 11: April 6
These segments will create a 4.5-mile multi-use trail between 17th Avenue and State Park Drive.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — The County of Santa Cruz is hosting upcoming community meetings to discuss the Coastal Rail Trail Segments 10 and 11 project, which will create a 4.5-mile multi-use trail between 17th Avenue and State Park Drive as part of a broader trail network along theSanta Cruz Branch Rail Line.
The project is part of the Regional Transportation Commmission’s Monterey Bay Sanctuary Scenic Trail Network Master Plan.

Anyone who is interested in active transportation and recreation within Santa Cruz County is encouraged to attend. The County will host both virtual and in-person meetings to present draft designs for two approaches to developing the rail corridor, including an ultimate trail alignment alongside the rail tracks and an interim alignment on the tracks.
The Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission and the City of Capitola are partnering and will be present at the meetings.

An in-person open house is scheduled for Wednesday, April 13 at 5:30 p.m. at the Live Oak Elementary School Multipurpose Room, 1916 Capitola Ave., Live Oak.
Prior to each meeting, an agenda for the meetings will be posted to the project website, at https://dpw.santacruzcounty.us/RailTrail.
Drawings will be posted to the site after the meeting, as well as an online survey for those unable to attend the meetings.
These meetings and others before a variety of local elected and appointed bodies will
help inform the draft Environmental Impact Report, which is expected to be released later this year.
