Santa Cruz, Calif – On Tuesday September 10 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Dr. Bruce Block, Department Chair of Pediatrics at the Santa Cruz division of Palo Alto Medical Foundation, will share his insights on child and family health, wellness, and development with local parents gathered at Luma Yoga and Family Center in downtown Santa Cruz. Parents and children are welcome, free of charge. Childcare is also available on-site for $4 per half hour.
This session is part of an ongoing monthly series, Teatime with Dr. Block.
“The idea is to enable Bruce to connect with parents in an informal, non-medical, child-friendly environment where their questions and concerns can be explored without the time constraints of a typical visit to the pediatrician,” says Kate Tripp, one of Luma’s co-owners.

The format also enables Block to do what he loves outside of practicing medicine: assist parents in their role of supporting children to reach their potential.
Founded by four local mothers, Luma is a full-service yoga and resource center offering classes, enrichment programs, wellness services, and products for parents, expecting parents, and children. Founded on the principle that when parents are nourished, families thrive, Luma was voted Best New Innovative Business in Santa Cruz in this year’s Gold Awards contest sponsored by Santa Cruz Weekly.
