This guy decided that the window of the vacant store that once held Jabberwock at 719 Pacific Ave. downtown was the place to style his hair Wednesday around noon.
He pulled out scissors and began cutting away, with piles of hair accumulating on the ground.
A hospitality worker talked to him but did nothing about his behavior. She walked away after asking why I was taking pictures.

I asked him if he was going to clean up the hair and he said no.
"Hair is good for the environment," he said. "I don't like people but I like the environment."

He is perhaps one of the people groups such as Take Back Santa Cruz want to take their city back from.
Said one passerby who lives to the south: "The police would have been here and had him arrested the minute he pulled out his scissors in Monterey."
