PHOTO OF THE DAY: Nobody Gets More Stares at Pleasure Point Than This Trio
You can't help but smile when you see Shannon Hersey walking her dogs along the quickly being fixed path along Pleasure Point.
Heads turn, bicycles stop, surfers look amazed, as Shannon Hersey takes her daily walk along Pleasure Point with her 2-year-old Great Dane, Mouse and her 6-month-old Chihuahua mix, Scout.
Says Shannon:
"Usually, I get 'Is that a dog or a horse?', 'Do you have a saddle for that thing?', 'Who's walking who?', and 'Aren't you unbalanced?' I think the funniest reaction was when this very tall, well-built man, squealed and hid behind his girlfriend until we passed. I'm not sure if he was more intimidated by Mouse's size or Scout's bark."

Hersey always wanted a Great Dane, but then her 13-year-old daughter fell in love with Scout and he joined the family.
Yes, the two dogs get along, even if they can't always keep up with each other. Mouse, who weighs 145, can't quite scoot with Scout, who weighs 10 pounds.

For all the complaints as it was being developed, the path along East Cliff at Pleasure Point is looking pretty good and was packed with foot, bike and dog traffic Saturday.
