Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Announces Free Summer Concert Schedule

Two shows every Friday night, lots of hits and all free.

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk released its summer free concert schedule with a lot of familiar names with piles of platinum albums between them.

The season starts June 15 with Warrant, the heavy metal band known for the song "Cherry Pie." What you didn't know is that they between 1989 and 1996, they sold 50 million albums.

It ends August 31 with local favorite Papa Doo Run Run, who were once the celebrity house band at Disneyland, with the ability to channel greats of the early 1960s, such as the Beach Boys and Jan and Dean.

Concerts are 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. at the Beach Bandstand.
