Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk To Reopen Thurs; Reservations Now Open

SANTA CRUZ, CA — The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is accepting reservations for the park days ahead of its anticipated reopening Thursday.

The boardwalk is currently taking reservations through April 11, according to its website. Reservations at later dates will be open soon.

Face masks are a must and reservations are highly recommended, the boardwalk said. Rides will close from time to time for sanitizing.

Capacity in the park will be controlled. Walk-up customers will only be allowed in as capacity permits.

Theme parks in red tier counties may reopen to 15 percent capacity, while parks in orange tier counties may reopen at 25 percent capacity.

Santa Cruz County is currently in the red tier, but local health officials strongly anticipate the county will be placed in the less-strict orange tier Tuesday.

The boardwalk anticipates opening eight to 12 rides. That could include:

  • Shockwave
  • Undertow
  • Giant Dipper
  • Rock 'N Roll
  • Sea Swings
  • Wave Rider
  • Tsunami
  • Twirlin' Teacups
  • Cyclone
  • Ghost Blasters
  • Space Race
  • three to four kid-friendly rides
