Santa Cruz Co. Sheriff's Office Starts Bike Registration Program
Project 529 is working with the sheriff's office to help people find their stolen bikes.
SANTA CRUZ, CA - Santa Cruz County sees hundreds of bikes stolen every year, the county sheriff's office said.
To help people find their stolen bikes more easily, the sheriff's office formed a partnership with Project 529, a bike registration program.
Registering with Project 529 puts bike owners' serial numbers into a system and helps law enforcement track them down if they're stolen.
