Cal Fire is asking the public to "use extreme caution" when visiting a popular local forest with hiking trails.
SOQUEL, CA — Officials are warning Santa Cruz County residents that trails could be impacted for weeks due to wind-related damage at a well-known local hiking spot.
Downed limbs and trees have been reported across all trails at the Soquel Demonstration State Forest, according to the Cal Fire San Mateo-Santa Cruz Unit.
Rains forecast to come could also impact trails for weeks, Cal Fire said. Rain could come as soon as Thursday night and Friday, and it's also in the forecast for next week.
