Santa Cruz Film Festival Announces Lineup of 100 Films

The lineup posted at midnight Saturday, after a Friday night celebration at the Tannery Arts Center.

It was hard to know which was the biggest star Friday night: the revealing of the 100 films set for May's Santa Cruz Film Festival or the Tannery Arts Center, which was packed with artists, dancers and movie previews for the 100th First Friday.

Partygoers got a sneak preview of the films in trailers and flyers posted around the hallways of the arts center. The formal list for the May 10-19 festival was posted online at midnight and you can see it here.

Some of the highlights include documentaries Bob Marley: Making of a Legend and Watsonville, the story of that city; Santa Cruzin', Phillips Patton's tale about people who came to Santa Cruz to break out of the conventional mold; Heist: Who Stole the American Dream? a documentary about corruption and power; Pink Ribbons, about the commercial business grown around cancer fundraising.
