SANTA CRUZ, CA — Get a real Christmas tree this year? Be sure to leave it on your curb in the coming days.

Curbside Christmas tree pickup will continue through Jan. 14, on your regularly scheduled pickup day. The city asks that residents do not leave trees propped up against carts.

Be sure to remove lights, decorations, tree stands and leave your tree unwrapped. Trees larger than six feet should be cut into smaller pieces. Flocked trees will not be accepted.

Miss pickup day? No worries. Trees can be trimmed to fit into your yard waste cart (be sure the lid closes) or dropped off at the yard waste area of the Resource Recovery Facility free in January. The facility is located at 605 Dimeo Lane, three miles north of Santa Cruz.
